AGREEMENT

QUALIFICATIONS:   An audition is required for anyone wishing to join The Actors Group. Call 818-506-4500 or email actorsgroup@sbcglobal.net for information and to schedule an audition. For those not accepted, there is a 90-day wait before another audition can be scheduled. For those accepted, there is a 60-day trial basis following acceptance. We reserve the right to review the association of anyone with The Actors Group at any time.

RESERVATIONS:   Please contact The Actors Group at 818-506-4500 or email actorsgroup@sbcglobal.net to book workshops. The Actors Group does not call you to confirm your reservation; please do not request that we do. Consider yourself confirmed. Always check your voicemail and email for notification if workshop is full or for unforeseen workshop cancellations.

STANDBY:   If you book for standby, you are automatically moved onto the booked list for that workshop when someone on the list cancels. You are held to the same 24-hour cancellation policy when you are moved onto the workshop list as with any other booking. When you sign up for standby, you are committing to secure a position in the queue for that workshop. If you are on the standby list after the 24-hour cancellation deadline, you will be charged if a spot comes available in that workshop.

CANCELLATIONS:   Must be made a full 24 hours prior to the workshop for credit or refund. The time stamp on emails and voicemails will determine the exact time of the cancellation. YOU ARE FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY WORKSHOP NOT CANCELLED IN TIME.  No exceptions (INCLUDING ILLNESS, TRAFFIC, AUDITIONS, ON-SET).

PICTURES & RESUMES: Actors are responsible for bringing a current photo and resume per guest with them to each workshop. Please arrive early to get your picture(s) in before the guest(s) arrive(s). Guests may request photos and resumes in advance, so we ask you to leave 6 extra photos with us in your file and to always have extra photos with you.

TIME:  All evening workshops begin at 7:30PM unless otherwise noted on the calendar. Please be on time and plan to stay the entire workshop. Actors arriving after the scheduled start time are subject to losing their reservation and forfeiting their workshop fee. The only exception to this rule is calling the appropriate “day of” number 818-506-4644 in advance for approval.

REQUIRED ETTIQUETTE:  

  1. Everyone is to be present during the cold reading part of each workshop. You are responsible to be a good audience when you are not reading.
  2. Take a seat throughout the workshop. Do not sit on the step or remain standing.
  3. DO NOT rehearse while other actors are reading. Give your attention to all the readings. This is a very valuable process that workshops provide. There is specific time set aside for practicing any sides that are given for cold reading.
  4. When actors are paired to read, each actor must give the actor s/he is reading with the courtesy of reading the scene together at least once.
  5. DO NOT shuffle the pages of sides during the workshop. This is rude and distracting.
  6. Connect with your scene partner to showcase your skills. Remember that who you're partnered with makes your work better and it is your responsibility to contribute to theirs the best you can too.

PRICE  & DISCOUNT:  We hope that packages and specials make it so every actor can be at The Actors Group more often!

  1. Workshops are $32 unless otherwise designated in the calendar.
  2. Specials or packages cannot be transferred to another actor.
  3. Our $99 4-workshop package saves $7.25 per workshop. Package expires on the year anniversary of the date of purchase. It covers the standard price of $32 on any workshop. For those workshops that are more (such as $35, $37, $39, $42, $45 or $47), it can be applied to cover the first $32 and the difference of $3, $5, $7, $10, etc. simply paid at the workshop... example: for a $37 workshop you would pay an additional $5 ($37 - $32 = $5) - Sorry, no credit cards for the $3, $5, $7 or $10 differences. Any additional amount to a 4-pack($3, $5, $7 or $10) must be paid by cash or check only, please
  4. No 2 specials can be used together.
  5. Every member gets chances at unsystematic random day-of specials distributed by email only. However for example, an email special cannot be paid for with one of a 4-pack.

CREDIT CARDS:  We accept VISA / MC / AMEX / DISCOVER for $30 minimum purchases.

BOUNCED CHECKS:  There is a $25 fee for bounced checks that must be paid before attending another workshop.
